Who commands the sea? That's right Poseidon. And he's mad at us for not passing the UN's law of the sea. So he's going to find Osama, reanimate him, and then Osama's going to give scimitars to octopuses, put lasers on sharks, and attach explosive vests to flying fish and teach them to fly into buildings. WE ARE *******. FACT.
Nancy - You want credibility? You can't handle my credibility, you troll! FACT.
I believe neither. Everyone knows Bush already captured & killed the 9/11 mastermind, Saddam Hussein.
Bush & Reagan policies killed Bin Laden back in 2001. Nixon also deserves some credit.
Hussein Obama deserves ZERO credit.

I am going upnorth tomorrow to my family cabin, and it is right on the north branch of the ausable river in michigan. where i am, virtually none of it is over my mid-stomach. I didnt use them last year, I just used a pair of basketball shorts. do they help you catch more fish? I have a vest, and a somewhat variety of flies, and I have the right pole, and set up, but I just dont have waders. Do I really need them? (I am a little short on money right now, so I havent really got the chance to buy them). If I really need them, I am going upnorth again in august, and I can buy them before I go upnorth again. But will i Be okay without them this time?
Providing you aren't getting cold from standing in the water then no you don't need them. They won't help you catch more fish, unless its in cold conditions where you can't wade without something to insulate you.
If you have a pair of hiking boots wear them as like the others above me said it will stop you damaging your feet and should give you some ankle support on the uneven river bottom. If the water is cold don't stay in it for too long as it saps your energy without you even knowing it, then when the time comes to climb out and up the river bank you will find it difficult (been there and done that). If your boots are slipping on the bottom you could always glue some patches of felt to them as it will help you get some grip on the slippery rocks. Be warned however felt soles can be slippery on other surfaces (such as wet grass). I would recommend a wading staff (you can use an old ski pole) if your wading on an uneven bottom as it helps you to see any drop off points in the river and helps you to remain stable.

In this 3rd and final part Tim talks about women's fly fishing in the UK and raises the controversial point that perhaps women make better fly fishermen than the men do! He also talks about trout fishing at Narborough Trout Lakes in Norfolk, UK, as well as salt water fly fishing.

so ive been taking my malamute mix out on the river with me, she LOVES to run hard through the brush and into the water over and over, well she comes home with cuts always so i need to buy her something to help protect her a bit, but not over heat her. i have no experience with any of these products, except my roommates dog who had the cabelas neoprene vest, which i think would overheat my dog.
ive found these 2 products but dont know if the first one would offer much protection or even hold up.

anyone have anything they use that works? i go fly fishing atleat once a week so i need something that can take a good beating.
oh and also, i want one that covers her sides and chest, not just the chest.
The second one you linked to would do the job. Look for a product at your sporting store (i.e Sports Authority or Sportsman's Warehouse), they sell body armor with "skid plates" for dogs to protect their underbelly.

Never fly fished before in my life. I have a Rod/Reel combo with line and a leader. And I know I will need waders, a vest, and a net. After that, I'm lost. What other essentials should I have to start out?
I am big on starting simple especially with fly fishing but I listed some must-haves and some optional items below. My additions to GMB's list are as follows:
- You are going to need a flybox
- You will also need a hemostat or pliers to get the hooks out
- You may want to have some dry fly dressing if you are going to be using flies on the surface
- You could bring split shot for getting flies down deep
- Polarized sunglasses will help you to see fish
*Optional items would be strike indicators for nymphing, sinktips for streamers and other subsurface flies but really you wont need these right at the start unless you are doing something specific ie fishing wet flies for steelhead / salmon.

The last time I tried to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in a homemade airplane I was stranded on an island, for 6 months. It was terrible. I had no food, and I really don’t enjoy fish, so it was rather unpleasant.
I didn’t have a change of clothes so I had to keep wearing the same vest and trousers, which got rather revolting.
I did try and make some new clothes, but a shirt and tie made of coconut tree leaves is really not all that fashionable, nor is it comfortable. I tried to make some shoes out of sand, but I think that was because I hadn’t eaten in 5 days and was living off coconut milk.
I went swimming quite a bit, but that was only because I couldn’t stop running back and forth on the beach shouting “I need to feed my dolphin! It’s going to starve to death!! GUPPY! GUPPY!! GAAAAWWWWW!” I believe that happened also because I fell asleep on the beach and became very dehydrated and hungry, and I had a dream I bought a dolphin from the supermarket… odd, I know.
About the second month on the island, I started to really lose contact with the rest of the world, more than likely because I was isolated from it… but also because those damn fish wouldn’t stop taunting me about how I always wear the same outfit. “I’m sorry, I didn’t pack more; I wasn’t planning on staying here for more than a day!” And yet, day after day, I had to listen to them taunting me relentlessly, over and over…
I’d often sit up on the beach in the fetal position rocking back and forth trying to convince myself it was only my imagination, and that fish really didn’t have a fashion sensibility and weren’t able to decipher whether or not my outfit was the same, or if I just had a lot of similar ones.
The song DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY eventually became the only thing that left my lips when I spoke out loud, but other than that, I just did a lot of thinking…(or at least I thought it was only thinking, and that I wasn’t actually saying it aloud.)
At around month 3 I began to reenact scenes from Sesame Street. Most of the time, I had a coconut tree play all the characters except Elmo, which I most often played. Sometimes I heard the fish mocking me, which I tried to not let bother me, but sometimes it was hard to do.
In the mornings I often liked to take a stroll around the island, looking for other sesame street characters, and sometimes I’d find someone new. One morning, I found the cookie monster in a cave. Well, actually, it was a rock, but he told me he wouldn’t mind playing the cookie monster, and that he would also like a cookie. I told him so would I, and then took him back to my side of the island. Later that afternoon, we ended up reenacting over 10 different episodes of Sesame Street.
yeh.
don't ask.
just tell me what you think.
nd don't be mean either. i don't need to hear you tell me it don't make sense or what's the point.
I'm not reading this, so whatever the question is, flip a coin for the answer.
