whats a good dog chest protector?

so ive been taking my malamute mix out on the river with me, she LOVES to run hard through the brush and into the water over and over, well she comes home with cuts always so i need to buy her something to help protect her a bit, but not over heat her. i have no experience with any of these products, except my roommates dog who had the cabelas neoprene vest, which i think would overheat my dog.

ive found these 2 products but dont know if the first one would offer much protection or even hold up.

anyone have anything they use that works? i go fly fishing atleat once a week so i need something that can take a good beating.
oh and also, i want one that covers her sides and chest, not just the chest.

The second one you linked to would do the job. Look for a product at your sporting store (i.e Sports Authority or Sportsman's Warehouse), they sell body armor with "skid plates" for dogs to protect their underbelly.

Go for the second one, the first one is a shirt to keep the dog cool and will not protect the chest (it'll actually probably end up getting ripped).
