Bass come in many species. You have to have a wide variety of bass fishing gear if you want to be successful in bass fishing because the equipment and techniques that work for some bass will not work for others. Largemouth bass is the most popular type of bass.  Many types of lures and baits are bite by this type of bass because they are extremely aggressive. For bass fishing, you can use live bait like minnows, worms, popper or steamers.  The best time for largemouth bass are in the morning because they tend to like warmer water.
Smallmouth bass tend to live in rocky streams and in lakes because their favorite food such as crayfish are easy founded there. Many places have laws against having live crayfish while fishing, so you have to be careful when using live crayfish and you need to get to know if there any regulation that prohibit you in using live crayfish in some location of fishing.  You should fish quitely if you use tackle that stays on the surface and use artificial bait. Do not cast in wide open area, you should be sure to cast toward rocky areas or logs.

For many kinds of bass, spinnerbait is a great to have in your bass fishing gear supply.  It looks like a safety pin with spinner blades on one end.  Spinnerbait is great around logs, rocks or other structures and these tend to be the best locations to cast for bass. If you want something look like small fish that bass feed on then crankbait is the one, and some fishermen prefer crankbait since it can be fish in a wide variety of locations and depths. Old school method of a worm and a hook has great success for years have been used also by many bass fishermen. Artificial worm have achieved good result and so other live bait as well.

Your reel, line and rod must be sure up to the task but not overbuilt because bass can be large and heavy. You can lose the bass fish if your lines, reels and rods are too slight can break and if your equipment is overbuilt it can inhibit your technique and cause you to catch fewer fish. Your ability to actually reel the fish in as it does on your ability to make the fish want to bite as you aware that largemouth bass are known to bite almost anything. Although the bass do biting for you but they will not want to come aboard without a fight so you have to choose the right bass fishing gear for your success in bass fishing.
